Namibia Visa Update

We wanted to share an urgent update regarding Namibia’s upcoming visa regulations, which will take effect on 01 April 2025. While we are still awaiting full details from the Ministry of Home Affairs, here is what we know so far:
Key Points:
• Visa on Arrival (VOA) Online Option: From 3rd March 2025 travellers eligible for a Visa on Arrival can apply and pay online in advance (recommended). This is an alternative for those who prefer to arrange their visa before reaching the immigration desk, and aims to reduce delays upon arrival. The Visa on Arrival option button on the website will be the correct one to choose.
• The amount: We’ve been told to expect will be N$ 1,600 pp (approx. GBP68) and these will be multi-entry, valid for 90 days; although these details are still TBC!
• Online Platform Launch: The Ministry of Home Affairs will launch the online visa application system on 03 March 2025 when we expect all further details & requirements to be published.
• Official Announcement: The official launch event will take place in Windhoek on 03 March 2025, and the Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) will also host a separate launch event at ITB Berlin on the same day to inform international stakeholders.
• Non-Exempt Travellers: Countries that are neither visa-exempt nor eligible for Visa on Arrival must follow the existing process - applying in advance with required documentation, including bank statements and other supporting documents.
• Complete Guidelines Pending: The Ministry has assured that full guidelines, including the list of eligible nationalities, designated entry points offering Visa on Arrival, and precise application procedures, will be published on 03 March 2025.
We will do our upmost to keep you informed of developments as news emerges. Once the procedures have been published, we strongly recommend that all travellers check visa requirements well in advance.
We will provide a further update as soon as we have additional details.
Best regards,
