Ghana Approves Visa Waiver Agreements with Mozambique, Three Other Countries
Ghana’s Parliament has approved visa waiver agreements with four countries – Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe, Colombia, and the Commonwealth of Dominica – allowing holders of diplomatic, service, and ordinary passports to travel without a visa. The move is intended to support closer international cooperation in areas such as tourism, education, trade, energy, and agriculture.
According to Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije, the agreements are designed to enhance multilateral relations and increase mobility between partner nations. Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa confirmed there would be no immediate revenue loss, stating that the visa waivers are expected to strengthen tourism and trade links while supporting long-term socio-economic growth through expanded bilateral engagement.
