The High Commission in the UK is currently experiencing delays in processing visa applications, due to increased volumes and the implementation of a new electronic system which will make things far quicker, once fully integrated.

Tim Henshall, Head of Tourism Marketing, apologised for the delays and has asked for travel professionals to ask their clients to bear with the Visa department, who are trying their very best to speed up the processing.

As a safety net, note that visas are available on arrival. So clients do not risk being turned away at the border due to a lack of a visa.

"I'd still recommend online applications, as it does make things easier on arrival. It's worth noting that I'm yet to hear of anyone who didn't get their visa before they left for the airport.. but it has been last minute at times. We're genuinely sorry. But know that you can apply when you touch down in Tanzania" said Henshall, whilst adding that he has no jurisdiction on visa matters, and can only forward enquiries made to him on to the email address shown below.
