Egypt to Raise Single-Entry Visa Fee to $33 from January 2027
Egypt will increase its single-entry visa fee from $30 to $33 on 1 January 2027, following an Egyptian Cabinet decision dated 13 August 2026 approving a $3 rise in entry and transit visa fees. The increase has been confirmed in Circular No. 173/2026 issued by the Egyptian Travel Agents Association (E.T.A.A.) to tourism industry professionals. Travellers using the digital visa-on-arrival system at Cairo International Airport - currently being piloted since 1 August 2026 - will pay a total of $39, comprising the $33 visa fee plus $6 in service, issuance and payment charges.
The adjustment affects the base visa fee, but the pricing for Egypt's standard e-Visa - applied for in advance through the Egyptian Ministry of Interior portal and currently listed at $30 for single-entry and $65 for multiple-entry - has not yet been officially updated to reflect the January 2027 changes. The digital visa-on-arrival pilot, which replaces the traditional visa sticker with a QR code obtainable online or via self-service kiosks at Cairo airport, is expected to be gradually expanded to other Egyptian airports and border crossings, though the $39 fee structure will apply specifically to that channel. Travellers and trade partners are advised to monitor official channels for confirmation of updated e-Visa pricing ahead of the new year.
