Derek Houston announces dates for Harare Spotlight travel Expo 16 October

An ideal opportunity for ATTA members to target the both the  Zimbabwe outbound market to Africa and the domestic travel market.

The Spotlight TravelExpo will take place at the iconic Mekles Hotel now rebranded as Hyatt Regency Harare:The Meikles.

20  exhibitors from various African countries will be exhibiting and over 100 Zimbabwean Travel trade are expected to attend.

Spotlight TravelExpo is supported by AZTA and Tina Pigors of Co-ordinating Zimbabwe will be assisting with Trade registrations.

There has been a significant increase in outbound corporate and leisure travel from Zimbabwe to African & Indian Ocean islands destinations.
According to a Simple Flying analyst, Johannesburg- Harare is the busiest international route in Southern Africa, with 70 weekly flights as of June.  

There are 75 IATA and many non-IATA Travel Agencies in Harare so it will be an ideal opportunity for Airlines, International Tourist offices, Hotel groups and Tour operators to network with agents.

The South African Tourism Insight Unit reported recently that Kenya was a very popular destination for Zimbabwe travellers. The Unit also reported that Zimbabwe’s outbound market would recover to pre-pandemic levels in 2024.

Spotlight TravelExpo in Dar es Salaam  scheduled for 27 September at Johari Rotana is nearly fully booked with 25 Exhibitors already confirmed.
