After a record attendance of 123 Travel agents and DMCs at Spotlight Harare, the Spotlight TravelExpo series is heading to EAST AFRICA in August and September

On 28 August 2025, Spotlight TravelExpo Kampala promises to be another standout event in the regional travel trade calendar.

With 23 exhibitors already confirmed and an anticipated 100 travel agents and Ugandan DMCs set to attend, the event is shaping up to be a vibrant platform for business-to-business networking and trade development across the tourism value chain.

Kampala has a burgeoning outbound travel market both for leisure travel and business.

Kenya recorded 225,000 Ugandan arrivals in 2024 -an increase of 27%

Zanzibar and Kenya Coast resorts are very popular with Ugandans and DAR and Nairobi are important destinations for corporate travellers from Uganda.

Following Spotlight Kampala, the next stop will be Spotlight Dar es Salaam - East Africa’s largest City (by population) and the region’s second most important commercial hub.

Spotlight DAR takes place on 19 September at Johari Rotana with over 100 Travel agents and DMCs expected to attend.

Most of the IATA Travel agencies are located in DAR so business travel ex DAR  is an important reason why many of the exhibitors are African city centre hotels.

Tanzania is becoming an important leisure and business travel source market for Southern African exhibitors. Airlink and SAA fly to DAR while Air Tanzania serves Harare and Lusaka.

Organised by Houston Marketing, the Spotlight series offers inbound and outbound tourism stakeholders a focused opportunity to connect, showcase new offerings, and strengthen regional travel trade ties. ATTA members can reserve tables by clicking here.

Looking ahead to 2026, Spotlight Nairobi takes place on February 11 & 12 while  Accra, Ghana is set to join the line-up in April 2026 – an exciting addition to the Spotlight network, further expanding its reach across the continent.
