Luanda to Host 2nd UN Tourism Conference on Tourism and Air Transport in Africa

Luanda, Angola, will host the 2nd UN Tourism and ICAO Ministerial Conference on Tourism and Air Transport in Africa from 22–24 July 2025. The high-level event aims to strengthen cooperation between the aviation and tourism sectors to boost connectivity, investment, and sustainable growth across the continent. With international arrivals reaching 74 million in 2024, the conference comes at a pivotal time for Africa’s travel industry resurgence.
Held under the theme "Fostering Synergies between Tourism and Air Transport for Inclusive and Sustainable Growth," the conference will bring together ministers, policymakers, and industry leaders. Sessions will focus on air connectivity gaps, infrastructure investment, regional integration, regulatory harmonisation, and innovation. The event will culminate in the adoption of the Luanda Ministerial Statement, outlining joint priorities to position tourism and air transport as central drivers of development in Africa.
