ATTA, widely recognised as “A Voice for Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands” collaborates with a number of organisations and associations around the world to both promote tourism to and within Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands, and to address and represent our members' interests at the highest levels.
The ATTA President and Chairman represents the industry on many international committees and councils including World Travel Market, PURE, The United Nations Tourism Emergency Response Network, the UK Foreign Office Tourism Advisory Council and the Madrid based United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).
In times of crisis, ATTA also plays a leading role in linking members to media in the event of accidents or emergencies involving tourists within Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. ATTA acts in a central role, working with national and regional news media for information on breaking news, whilst accumulating and disseminating information as we work closely with tourism boards, suppliers, tour and ground operators where possible to ensure all parties are reliably informed.
