The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) has announced that preparations are in full swing for the 17th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo, scheduled for 12-14 September in Bulawayo.

This year's event is expected to be the largest yet, with over 450 local and international exhibitors anticipated - an 8.3% increase from 2023. The expo aims to showcase Zimbabwe's diverse tourism offerings and attract new visitors to the country.

Four neighbouring countries - South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, and Malawi - will each bring at least 10 operators. Buyers from key markets including America, Europe, the Middle East, China, and Africa will participate in familiarisation tours across various Zimbabwean destinations.

ZTA's acting CEO, William Sitima, encouraged small and medium enterprises to take advantage of this opportunity, suggesting collaboration to overcome resource constraints. The expo is seen as a crucial platform for local operators to connect with international buyers and grow their businesses.

The event underscores Zimbabwe's commitment to promoting tourism in Bulawayo and aligns with President Mnangagwa's vision of inclusive development across the country.
