Temporary Exemption From Travel authorisation Letter
On Friday, Uganda announced that, due to a technical issue with its electronic visa (e-Visa) application system, the country is temporarily allowing travelers to obtain visas upon arrival.
As seen on its X account (formerly Twitter) “Due to an ongoing e-immigration system upgrade (URL: www.visas.immigration.go.ug), travelers are currently unable to access online Visa services. As a temporary measure to minimize travel disruptions, airlines have been informed to allow travelers heading to Uganda to board without prior e-Visa approval. Upon arrival, the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control will facilitate the issuance of visas,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uganda said in a statement.
No update yet as to when this is likely to be resolved, however they have confirmed the exemption is temporary and will remain in place until the system is restored.
