EgyptAir to add 12 aircraft in 2026
EgyptAir will take delivery of 12 new aircraft in 2026, starting with the induction of its first Airbus A350-900, Chairman Ahmed Adel announced at Cairo International Airport on Saturday, 14 February. The expansion forms part of a fleet renewal programme targeting 34 deliveries by 2031 and aligns with government plans to strengthen Cairo’s hub role and support tourism, investment and international connectivity.
Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny said EgyptAir is the first North African airline to operate the A350-900, configured with 30 business and 310 economy seats and featuring Airbus’ Airspace cabin. The aircraft will use a blend of Sustainable Aviation Fuel and introduces Panasonic’s Astrova inflight entertainment – a first for an African carrier – with 4K screens, Bluetooth, USB‑C charging and high-speed internet. Further deliveries include 13 aircraft in 2027, alongside airport upgrades – notably Cairo Terminal 4 expansion and works at Hurghada and other regional airports – and service digitalisation such as phasing out paper travel cards.
