Mozambique Plans One-Stop Border Expansion
Mozambique has announced plans to expand one-stop border crossings with neighbouring Southern African countries as part of broader efforts to grow its tourism-related GDP. Minister of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs, Mateus Saíze, stated that streamlining border procedures would reduce bureaucracy and enhance trade and tourism flows within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.
Speaking during a ceremony in Angónia district, Tete Province, Saíze emphasised that the initiative is aimed at strengthening regional ties and positioning Mozambique as a more accessible destination for travellers and investors. Improved cross-border infrastructure and efficiency are expected to support tourism growth and contribute positively to the national economy.
