Ghana Tourism Authority redevelops key tourist sites across the country
The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has commissioned the redevelopment of the Pikworo Heritage and Slave Camp at Nania near Paga in the Kassena-Nankana West District to attract tourists and boost the local economy.
The project comprises the construction of a periphery wall, frontage, summer huts , washrooms and admin block. The redevelopment forms part of an ongoing strategy to beautify tourist sites across the country, particularly slave routes. The project, which is being undertaken by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture through the GTA, has been made possible with funding from the Tourism Development Fund.
