The children at Esiteti Primary School had a delightful surprise when internationally renowned Chinese violinist Zhang Zhang performed during a visit to Elewana Tortilis Camp in Amboseli. Zhang Zhang is one of the chief soloists of the Monaco Philharmonic Orchestra, and is currently travelling the world on a charity inspired sabbatical sponsored by Prince Albert.

It is with great excitement that we announce that all Elewana Camps* will open on the 1st June 2021.

Elewana Collection is proud to announce it will open Elewana Lodo Springs on the 15th June 2019 bringing the total number of destinations to 16 award-winning luxurious camps, lodges and boutique beach hotels in Tanzania, Zanzibar and Kenya for the luxury safari camp and lodge operator. The announcement underpins Elewana Collection’s dedication to conservation in Northern Kenya and its position as one of the largest sustainable tourism operators in East Africa.

Flying six times a week Dubai to Kilimanjaro, with three flights routing via Dar es Salaam, makes it easier to stay at any of the Elewana Collection properties in Tanzania. With an option to overnight in Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge, approximately an hour’s drive from Kilimanjaro Airport before commencing your safari to Elewana The Manor at Ngorongoro, Elewana Tarangire Treetops, Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp or Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp.

Elewana The Manor at Ngorongoro is situated on the Shangri-La Estate, home to Ngorongoro Mountain Coffee and located on the lush highlands of Northern Tanzania 1700 metres above sea level. Named after the famous novel “Lost Horizon” and rebought by a group of Danish Germans after being owned previously by the British after World War 2, the estate was revived in order to produce the renowned coffee that we have today.

Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp continues to support great initiatives in the area. All profits generated by tourism activities at Loisaba are dedicated to the conservation of the private wilderness area, in addition to supporting the community. The latest being Lion Landscapes, where Lion collars were deployed earlier this month.

Our Consultant Culinary Trainer, Nicola Bryden is currently working her way around the properties within Elewana kitchens bringing our food alive and energizing our Chef Teams. Nicola’s cooking style is influenced from her vast experience working and traveling all over the world from Scotland to France and even as far afield as Australia. Drawing on this knowledge and experience our new menu’s feature combined flavours with an African inspired twist.

Elewana AfroChic is excited to announce another nest has appeared in our hatchery. Recently the team was excited to discover new Turtle trails coming up from the sea leading onto our beach area.

We are delighted to announce that after three and a half months, Elewana AfroChic Diani will once again welcome guests to enjoy our warm coastal hospitality. Located along a secluded section of Diani Beach, the hotel offers a magical setting of white sands, rustling palm trees, and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. The hotel has earned itself a reputation for a “home away from home” atmosphere, excellent seafood and friendly service.

The first nest in our turtle hatchery for 2018 was placed on 10th February with over a hundred eggs in the beach. We're hoping they'll hatch in approximately two months, although this does depend on the weather.

Back in March there was excitement as a new Turtle trail was found coming up from the sea leading onto our beach area. The team followed the trail and realised that we had another Turtle’s nest, making it our second nest of season 2018. We protected the nest and straight away the count began.

On the 22nd February 2018 Elewana Collection was honoured to co-host the event for the second consecutive year in celebration of the Tanzanian delegation that travelled to represent the country at the International Tourism Fair in Berlin to take place from the 7 – 12 March 2018.
