Elephant Pepper Camp reopens for the high season with extensive enhancements and new culinary concept

Elephant Pepper Camp is set to welcome guests back for the high season with a series of extensive refurbishments which encompass guest accommodation and the central areas of the camp, as well as a brand-new culinary concept.
The extensive renovation includes refurbished guest tents with updated furniture, providing comfortable and stylish accommodation for guests. The camp's arrival experience has been thoughtfully re-worked with a redesigned entrance way and a significant upgrade to the bar tent, featuring new furniture to create an enhanced and inviting space for relaxation and socialising. Upgrades have also been applied to the mess tents. This is the final phase of the renovation, as many common areas were already completed in December 2024, including a dedicated private dining space with upgraded furniture. The camp’s boutique has been repositioned and features refreshed furniture, while convenient new public washrooms were also added.
Complementing the camp’s refurbishment is the new culinary concept "Elephant and Pepper” centred around the ancient art of fire cooking. Drawing inspiration from traditional African bushcraft and global smokehouse techniques, the fire kissed safari dining experience is part of a relaunched overall menu featuring slow-smoked meats, ember-roasted vegetables, and fire-grilled seafood infused with rich local spices and cooked over aromatic acacia wood. Guests can look forward to open-fire feasts, smoke-infused cocktails and foraged flavours creating a deep connection between food, fire, and the Mara’s raw beauty. Traditional braai equipment is being sourced to ensure authentic preparation methods that honour this timeless cooking tradition.
