Turkish Airlines Resumes Flights to Misrata, Expanding Libya Network

Turkish Airlines has resumed flights to Misrata, Libya’s third largest city, marking its third destination in the country alongside Tripoli and Benghazi. The carrier suspended Misrata flights in January 2015 and restarted operations on 2 September 2025 with thrice-weekly services using Boeing 737-78D aircraft. Flights operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays between Istanbul and Misrata.

This move brings Turkish Airlines’ African network to 62 destinations, underlining its strategic focus on the continent amid growing regional demand. Misrata, a key industrial and commercial hub on Libya’s Mediterranean coast, represents a significant gateway for business and trade. The route's promotional fares are available until 9 September for travel through 30 November 2025, offering increased connectivity between Türkiye and a recovering Libyan tourism and business market.
