Nigeria rolls out free high-speed WiFi at Lagos and Abuja airports
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has launched free high-speed WiFi at Murtala Muhammed International Airport Terminal 2 in Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, delivered with MTN Nigeria under a public-private partnership. The service is free to passengers, with MTN funding operations through on-site branding, and is intended to lift service standards at Nigeria’s busiest gateways.
MTN says the network is engineered for peak traffic, supported by usage analytics, terminal brand ambassadors to assist travellers, and embedded data protection. FAAN plans to extend coverage to Kano, Port Harcourt and Enugu within three months, aligning with the government’s digital economy agenda and aviation reforms while improving first impressions for inbound visitors and connectivity for the travel trade.
