We are absolutely delighted to let you know the outcome of our planning & growth discussions with the Ngorongoro Conservation Authority (NCAA) are now complete.

We are pleased to have weathered the COVID storm and whilst our immediate plans for Ngorongoro are a little more ambitious now than a refurbishment, we are excited to expand our Ngorongoro Crater footprint.

Lemala will be opening a new five star Lemala Ngorongoro Lodge in 2024.

The new Lodge will echo the style and ethos of our existing Tanzanian Lodge portfolio of Lemala Kuria Hills, Mpingo Ridge and Nanyukie with the same focus on space, guest comfort and the same commitment to preserving our natural environment. And of course, staffed with the same #spiritoflemala.

Located within one kilometre of our existing Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp the new Lodge will use the same Lemala Gate access road to and from the Crater floor, we continue to be amongst the first to arrive - and the last to leave - the game rich eastern quadrant of the Ngorongoro Crater Floor.

Our existing Ngorongoro Tented Camp will still close for refurb as planned from 18th February until the 12th June 2023. We will re-open a refurbished Ngorongoro Tented Camp with 9 standard tents and a brand new 2 bedroom unit in June in our current location – the upgrades will include hot and cold water on demand, improved decking, bathroom upgrades and a soft interior upgrade as well as some back of house improvements.

We look forward to welcoming your guests back to Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp on the 12th June 2023 and would like to thank everyone at the NCAA for this wonderful endorsement of the values that lie at the core of Lemala Camp & Lodges.

We will share more information, and designs, for our new Ngorongoro Lodge in due course.

New Imagery

The Lemala team are thrilled to share with you a range of new photographs taken recently at Lemala Kuria Hills

Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge is remotely located in the Wogakuria Hills of the Northern Serengeti. A scenic region characterized by grassy rolling hills, open woodland and tree-lined watercourses, it is a habitat that attracts wildlife throughout the year. Lemala Kuria Hills is in close proximity to the Mara River on the Serengeti’s border with Kenya’s Maasai Mara, so is also within the main corridor of the world-famous wildebeest migration between July and October.

Our lodge offers unrivaled luxury and sophistication, where you can choose to either relax in style or enjoy the Northern Serengeti’s excellent game viewing (without the crowds) with our superb guides in open 4×4 vehicles.

There are several dining options at the lodge or out in the bush, and delicious meals include a choice of starters, main courses, desserts and house drinks. Afternoon tea is served before your game drive, and cocktails at sunset are taken on one of the kopjes with distant views of the Isuria Escarpment in the Maasai Mara. The Melengali Spa is in a separate tent where you can indulge in massages and manicures in a peaceful, natural setting.
