Kwandwe Marks World Tourism Day with New Film Highlighting the Power of Tourism

South Africa – September 2025
This World Tourism Day, Kwandwe Private Game Reserve celebrates the transformative role tourism plays in protecting Africa’s wildlife, restoring wilderness, and supporting local communities.
Spanning 30,000 hectares in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, Kwandwe is home to iconic species including black and white rhino, elephant, and cheetah. Every guest's stay directly funds anti-poaching operations, habitat restoration, and pioneering community initiatives, making tourism the lifeblood of the reserve.
Just days earlier, Kwandwe also marked World Rhino Day, celebrating 25 years of rhino conservation success. Today, with the adoption of pioneering monitoring technology and the dedication of conservation teams, every rhino on the reserve is tracked around the clock – one of Africa’s most comprehensive protection systems.
To celebrate World Tourism Day, Kwandwe has launched a new film showcasing the full guest experience – and the far-reaching impact that tourism makes possible.
