Kenya's Jambojet Starts Direct Flights To Zanzibar

Kenya's budget airline Jambojet has announced it will start direct flights between Zanzibar and Mombasa from 1 July 2024, flying four times weekly. Zanzibar's Minister of Infrastructure, Communication and Transport, Khalid Salum Mohamed, welcomed the new route as supporting the island's 2050 vision of growing its blue economy and visitor numbers.

Jambojet CEO Karanja Ndegwa said the route meets increasing demand and unlocks commercial opportunities in East Africa. As it nears its 10th anniversary, the airline focuses on underserved destinations. With more direct air connections, Zanzibar is enhancing its global appeal as a top holiday destination while supporting economic growth through increased tourism and trade.
