Encounters Travel Launches 9-Day Tunisia Eclipse Adventure 2027

Encounters Travel is excited to announce its second solar eclipse tour of 2027: the Tunisia Eclipse Adventure, running from July 27 to August 4, 2027. 

Following the success of the Egypt Eclipse Adventure 2027, this tour offers travellers a rare opportunity to witness a total solar eclipse on Monday, August 2, 2027, at a prime viewing location near Chaffar Beach, with up to 5 minutes and 39 seconds of total darkness at this specially selected site.

Guests will explore Tunis’s UNESCO-listed Medina, take part in a hands-on Tunisian cooking class, and visit the ancient ruins of Carthage and the picturesque village of Sidi Bou Said. 

The adventure continues south to Kairouan, Tozeur, and the dramatic mountain oases of Chebika, Tamerza and Midès, with a drive across the shimmering Chott el-Jerid salt flats to the desert gateway town of Douz.

Travellers will also discover the troglodyte homes of Matmata, the historic medina of Sfax, and the UNESCO-listed Roman Amphitheatre of El Jem, before returning to Tunis for the conclusion of the tour.
