Egypt’s Tourism Sector Achieves 19.3% Growth in Q4 FY2024/25

Egypt’s tourism industry expanded by 19.3% in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2024/25, according to the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation. This marked the highest annual growth rate among all economic sectors, with an overall yearly increase of 17.3% across tourism, hospitality, and restaurant services.

The growth was underpinned by rising investment in tourism infrastructure, increased hotel capacity, enhanced service standards, and modernised marketing efforts. The country welcomed over 17 million tourists during the fiscal year—up 16.4%—while tourist nights rose by 16.3% to 179 million, strengthening Egypt’s position as a key player in regional tourism recovery.
