ATTA® Appoints New CEO and Chair
Today’s marks the start of a new chapter for ATTA®! We’ve officially announced two key leadership appointments that reflect both the strength of our association and a renewed commitment to our mission of nurturing sustainable, inclusive tourism across Africa.
Please join us in welcoming Kgomotso Ramothea as our new CEO. Kgomotso, ATTA®'s first African female CEO, is a seasoned industry professional with over 20 years of experience and a keen understanding of the African tourism landscape. She brings a powerful vision for inclusive growth and is focussed on strengthening our network and member benefits.
We are also happy to have on board James Haigh, our new Chair, who will further reinforce ATTA®’s commitment to meaningful, long-term relationships with our members and stakeholders. James’s 25 years of industry expertise, spanning countries like Kenya, Tanzania, and beyond, completes a leadership team that embodies our dedication to thoughtful and responsible tourism development.
Kgomotso and James will be working together with Chris Mears, CEO of ATTA® Events, to ensure a seamless integration of strategic initiatives and enhance the member experience.
Nigel Vere Nicoll, our President and Group Managing Director remains at the forefront of African tourism and has been instrumental growing ATTA®’s senior and executive leadership.
As we celebrate what is a significant step in the organisation's evolution, it is important to acknowledge the contributions of those who have paved the way. We extend our sincere thanks to outgoing Chair Nick Aslin for his invaluable leadership. Under Nick's stewardship, ATTA® has thrived, and we are deeply grateful for his insights and support.
With these powerful new voices in our leadership team, we look forward to providing you with ever greater benefits, innovative initiatives, and networking opportunities in the coming year.
