Airlink expands services to Maputo and Dar es Salaam
Airlink has boosted its regional connectivity with additional flights to Maputo, Mozambique, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, further enhancing its role in supporting inbound tourism across Africa. Starting from 1 October 2024, the airline will operate four daily flights between Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport and Maputo from Monday to Saturday, with two flights on Sundays. These expanded services provide greater flexibility for both business and leisure travellers.
Additionally, since 21 September 2024, Airlink has introduced an extra flight between Johannesburg and Dar es Salaam, operating every Saturday. This offers improved weekend travel options to Tanzania’s largest city, a key tourism and business hub in East Africa.
Both new routes are serviced by the 98-seat Embraer ERJ 190 AR, a modern aircraft renowned for its comfort and efficiency. Airlink’s ongoing investment in expanding flight routes across the African continent is part of a broader strategy to support tourism growth by enhancing accessibility to key destinations.
