Team from British wildlife park prepare to embark on conservation road trip around East Africa
Four young conservationists Paradise Wildlife Park in Hertfordshire are preparing to embark on an anti-poaching mission across Africa.
Brothers Aaron Whitnall, 27, Tyler Whitnall, 25, and Cameron Whitnall, 23, will be joined by family friend Redmond Bolton, 25, on the three week drive across Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda.
Titled Drive 4 Wildlife, the team will deliver funds and equipment to wildlife organisations and charities across East Africa, culminating in the delivery and fitting out of a specialist vehicle that will be used by the Ugandan Wildlife Education Centre to rescue injured animals and help assist anti-poaching patrols.
Over the years Paradise Wildlife Park has helped support African species and conservation, including lion collaring for Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya.
The brothers’ grandfather founded the wildlife park in 1984 and all four men work there and grew up around animals.
Partially funded by the Motor Vision Awards, alongside corporate and private donations, the team hope their trip will help raise awareness of how and why species become endangered.
You can follow the team’s journey via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and if you would like to support their initiative, you can do so via their Virgin Money Giving page.
