Just a Drop launch Virtual Christmas Concert to support their work across Africa
By Brendan Hanlon, Just a DropWe all know Christmas is going to be a little different this year. While Coronavirus means Christmas plans and get-togethers certainly won’t be the same, there’s no reason to let tiers and restrictions dampen our Christmas spirit. With this in mind, international water charity, Just a Drop has organised a large dose of Christmas cheer with a virtual Christmas Concert to support their life-saving work across the globe.
Just a Drop’s Patron, Alastair Stewart OBE, will be joined by renowned choirs and acts such as, Treorchy Male Voice Choir, Vocal Dimensions Choir, Wimbledon Choral Society, Wiltshire Wailers and Offbeat Choir. They will perform alongside students from Pembrey Primary School and Co-op Academy Failsworth, as well as choirs from communities in Kenya, Uganda and Nicaragua that have benefited from Just a Drop’s work.
As an added treat, renowned author, translator, journalist and Hispanist Adam Feinstein will join Nicaragua’s Ambassador to the UK, HE Guisell Morales-Echaverry, to showcase the stunning poetry from this South American country. Adam has recently published the first book of rhyming translations of poet Ruben Dario’s work and is also Pablo Neruda’s biographer so brings a wealth of knowledge to what promises to be a concert highlight.
To get involved all you need to do is buy a ticket below. They cost just £10 each which will go directly to supporting Just a Drop's transformational work around the world. If you'd also like to make a donation alongside your ticket then there is an option for this too. The concert will be available to ticket holders from 7pm on Thursday 17th December 2020 until New Year!
