Grow Africa Sponsors Teachers in Rural Zimbabwe
By Alessandra Azevedo van Dyk, HideawaysEducation is a lifeline for many children in Zimbabwe, offering a path to a better life. However, the village school at Dingani, near Elephant’s Eye, Hwange, is significantly under-staffed and in urgent need of assistance. With over 350 children, the 6 teachers employed by the government are facing daily challenges.
The Grow Africa Foundation has sponsored the employment of an Early Childhood Development teacher at the school, Yolanda Ncube, who was born in the village of Dingani, graduated as a teacher 2 years ago and has been helping at Dingani Primary since 2018.
She has proven herself to be an invaluable help to the school and her employment would not be possible without the generous assistance of Hideaways guests who contribute to the Grow Africa Foundation. Find out how you can get involved to ensure more teachers are placed in the school.
