Riding Wild Borana introducing a first set departure date in 2019

Riding Wild Borana is extremely excited to announce the launch of our first set departure date, with an option to include the Kenyan Coast.

The 7 night riding safari will take place from the 1st February 2019 and will combine fly camping and lodge stays across an ecosystem which is renowned for it's wildlife conservation. Borana Conservancy has had a fantastic year for wildlife, with over five black rhino calves born this year alone. The elephant population is extremely strong and we are lucky to find ourselves in a part of the world where numbers are increasing. Guests see the big five on a regular basis and the option of game driving to find big cats will be available throughout.

The itinerary will begin with riding out of Borana Lodge, guests will then cross the grassy plains and drop down in altitude with a night of fly camping to Il Ngwesi Eco Lodge

Il Ngwesi Group Ranch forms part of a dramatically different eco-system. Run and managed by the Maasai community, this ranch is a fantastic example of community driven rangeland and wildlife management. The stay at Il Ngwesi will include maasai village visits, bush walks as well as riding. The wildlife on this ranch is extremely different to that of Borana and includes large herds of reticulated giraffe as well as a strong population of Grevy's zebra and gerenuk.

On the return to Borana there will be a night spent fly camping in the Mukugodo Forest before exploring the Western side of Borana Conservancy.
