South Africa: By popular demand, Airlink, Southern Africa’s premier airline, will again provide its peak season “bush & beach” service

Johannesburg – Airlink, Southern Africa’s premier airline, will reinstate direct flights between Durban and Bloemforntein from 26 February 2024.

Airlink, Southern Africa’s independent premier airline is boosting its Johannesburg-Richards Bay service with the introduction of jetliner flights on the route.

FlyNamibia, Airlink’s franchisee partner, will operate new flights between Windhoek and Victoria Falls, opening the sky for round trip multi-destination travel in Southern Africa.

Airlink, Southern Africa’s premier airline, will expand its South Africa – Malawi operations with additional flights between Johannesburg and Lilongwe from 16 December 2023.

Airlink, Southern Africa’s premier airline, will increase return flights between Johannesburg and Vilanculos, Mozambique, to 11 a week from 08 January 2024.

Airlink, Southern Africa’s premier airline today launched its direct scheduled air service between Durban and Harare. The first flight departed Durban’s King Shaka International Airport at 10.30 and arrived at Harare’s Robert Mugabe International Airbus at 12.40.

Eswatini Airlink was established in 1999 to provide air services for the Kingdom after Royal Swazi National Airways stopped operating. This was facilitated through an agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini and Airlink South Africa.

Airlink, Southern Africa’s premier airline, will re-introduce scheduled direct services between Durban and Mbombela Kruger Mpumulanga International (KMIA) from 04 April 2022.

With summer on the doorstep, Airlink will re-introduce scheduled services between Johannesburg and George from 01 November 2021.

Airlink, the independent regional airline, will resume scheduled air services to and from Polokwane from the 18 October 2021.

Airlink, the privately-owned airline, has officially changed its company name from “SA Airlink” to “Airlink”, as part of its strategy to distinguish itself as a totally independent airline.

Airlink advises that it has reached agreement with South African Airways in business rescue (for the re-accommodation of SAA tickets issued after 6 December 2019 for travel on Airlink flights. In terms of the agreement, Airlink will re issue and re accommodate SAA (083) tickets issued on Airlink SA8 flights on Airlink (749) tickets for travel on future Airlink 4Z flights.

25 March 2020, Johannesburg – Airlink, the South African-based domestic and regional airline, is suspending all operations after midnight this Thursday, 26 March 2020 in support of South Africa’s lock-down to slow and contain the spread of the COVID-19 “Coronavirus”.

Airlink, Africa’s largest privately-owned airline, will operate under its own “4Z” flight code on services operated with effect from 11 June 2020. This decision represents an important milestone in extending the commercial reach of the airline in its own right.

Airlink flights and schedule will continue to operate as normal regardless of South African Airways being placed in business rescue. Airlink, which is a privately owned airline, is an SAA code-share and franchise business partner.
