Airlink Connects Gqeberha and Mbombela from November 2026

24 August 2026, Johannesburg – Airlink, Southern Africa’s premier airline will launch three times weekly flights between Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth) and Mbombela’s Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport from 16 November 2026. 

 Bookings are now open for flights on this first ever direct scheduled air service between the two cities.

 This new route will be operated by an Embraer ERJ140 aircraft which accommodates 44 passengers with only window and aisle seats – there are no middle seats on any Airlink flights.

 “This new route pairs the respective gateways to the Sunshine Coast / Garden Route with the Kruger National Park and its surrounding lodges and other attractions. For leisure travellers, it will cut travel time significantly, avoiding the need to connect via Johannesburg. It will also support business travel between the Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga’s economic and industrial hubs, “said de Villiers Engelbrecht, Airlink CEO. 

Flights on the route will operate on these days and at these times from 16 November 2026 

Flight 4Z 510 will operate on Mon, Wed, Fri on an ERJ140 departing from PLZ at 11.30 and arriving in MQP at 13.20.

Flight 4Z 511 will operate on Mon, Wed, Fri on an ERJ140 departing from MQP at 13.55 and arriving at PLZ at 15.35.
