Wonderful People and Culture
Ivorians use the expression Akwaba to welcome and express hospitality. Beyond the word, it is also a whole art of receiving and making oneself available to visitors. Akwaba means welcoming with a frank smile and the Attour hug in the Akan language, sincere and warm. It is then to celebrate around a good meal washed down with local drink punctuated by singing and dancing to the sound of the Tam-Tam (a metal gong idiophone instrument).
