Wetu Launches Trip Pipeline to Help Travel Teams Manage the Work Around Every Trip
The new workspace connects trips, travellers, itineraries and tasks, instead of adding disconnected tools
Cape Town, South Africa: Wetu is moving beyond itinerary creation and into the day-to-day operations of travel businesses with the launch of Trip Pipeline, a travel-specific workspace that helps tour operators, DMCs and travel agents manage their trips, tasks, follow-ups and deadlines in one place, alongside the itineraries and contacts they already build and store in Wetu’s platform.
The launch reflects a broader shift in how Wetu is developing its platform, by connecting the tools travel businesses use to manage their work, rather than treating each part of the process as a separate function.
Developed from in-depth interviews with Wetu clients, Trip Pipeline addresses a challenge that small travel businesses face daily:
How does one keep track of many active trips moving at once, often with a small team and limited admin capacity?
Today, most travel teams build itineraries in one place and track everything else in spreadsheets, inboxes and calendars. With trip details scattered across so many tools, managers struggle to see what is in progress and what needs attention next.
“I'm using so many things at the moment... trying to figure out when it'll all be bridged together.”
— Cheryl Patterson, CEO & Founder of Deep Blue Adventures
Trip Pipeline brings that work into a connected workspace linked to the trip itself.
Each trip sits on a visual pipeline board and moves through configurable stages, from "new enquiry" through to "quoting", "booked" and "travelling" to "completed". Consultants can add tasks with due dates, receive notifications when they are due, and filter the board to focus on what's urgent. Workflow automations can automatically create tasks, notify team members, and support repeatable operational processes when trips move through different stages.
With itineraries, travellers and notes linked to each trip, any team member can see where it stands and easily take over when a colleague is away.
"Travel has always been a relationship business. Agents, operators, DMCs and suppliers work together around a trip to create an experience for a traveller, but the technology they use often separates that work into different places.
We think those things work better when they're connected. Trip Pipeline is an important step in that direction, connecting more of the work around the trip with the people, information and itineraries already in Wetu. Over time, we want Wetu to make it easier for the travel trade to work better together.”
— Neethling du Toit, CEO of Wetu.
Trip Pipeline builds on the introduction of Contact Manager in 2025, bridging more of the information and work surrounding a trip together inside Wetu.
More than 750,000 users already access Wetu each month to build and share itineraries. With Trip Pipeline, the operational work around those trips can now happen on the same platform, so consultants no longer need to leave Wetu to manage what happens next.
Trip Pipeline is available now to Wetu clients on Premium and Enterprise plans, directly from the main Wetu navigation menu.
