Uganda Taps Entertainment Tourism with Jamaican Star Spice’s December Visit
Uganda is expanding its tourism offering through entertainment-led experiences as Safari Beats, a new initiative by Africa One Tours and Travel, prepares to host Jamaican dancehall artist Spice in Kampala on 6 December 2025. The event, to be held at the Lugogo Cricket Oval, goes beyond a concert—it's designed as an immersive cultural exchange promoting Uganda’s heritage, wildlife, and hospitality. Spice’s itinerary includes visits to the Buganda Kingdom’s heritage sites, a game drive in Murchison Falls National Park, and a conservation-focused rhino naming ceremony at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
The initiative reflects Uganda’s strategic pivot to experience-driven tourism by combining music, culture, and conservation outreach. The Ministry of Wildlife, Tourism and Antiquities, alongside the Buganda Kingdom and Uganda Airlines, is supporting the campaign, which includes discounted travel packages and cultural engagement activities. Proceeds from the concert will support rhino relocation efforts and honour the late DJ Bushbaby, a key contributor to the Safari Beats concept. This marks a bold step in diversifying Uganda’s tourism narrative and attracting international visitors through creative, culturally rich programming.
