Proflight Zambia Boosts South Africa Routes Ahead of Festive Season

Proflight Zambia is expanding its services from both Johannesburg and Cape Town ahead of the 2026/27 festive season, offering South African travellers greater frequency and flexibility on routes to Zambia. A third daily return service between Johannesburg and Lusaka is now operating every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with the new evening flight departing Johannesburg at 18:25 and arriving in Lusaka at 20:25. The expansion, which began on 19 September, is further supported by 54 additional flights on the Johannesburg – Lusaka route during the December 2026 and January 2027 holiday period.

Cape Town travellers will gain a fourth weekly connection from 11 December, when a new Friday service joins Proflight Zambia's existing Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday flights. Departing Cape Town at 15:55 and operating via Livingstone, the flight is timed to connect with morning services from Ndola, Solwezi, Kalumbila, and Mfuwe, strengthening onward access across Zambia's domestic network. Captain Josias Walubita, Director of Government and Industry Affairs at Proflight Zambia, said the expansion is "about building a more useful regional network that supports the business relationships, family ties, and tourism links between Zambia and South Africa."
