The Elephant Cafe' Herd - 100 Days of Care Initiative
100 Days of Care -
Livingstone, Zambia
Our overriding immediate concern is the welfare and safety of our rescued African Elephant herd and their caretakers. Without the financial care of The Elephant Cafe' we do not have any means of providing for our Elephants upkeep. Our herd requires a great deal of daily supplementary feeds, in amounts that increase rapidly as the dry season progresses. They also require constant radio supervision when wild grazing in the Mosi-oa Tunya national park amongst the wild herds. Veterinary care is another big bill and any injuries at this time will be a catastrophe.
All of our Elephant caretakers have independently volunteered to stay with the herd, away from their families and we need to provide for their food, wages, accommodation and welfare.
To this end we partnered with one of our biggest donors non-profit Wild@Life and launched our #100daysofcare campaign. The monies generated from this supervised fund will be used for the herd's upkeep.
We are all well aware of the impact these incredible animals have on everyone who visits with them and we are committed to their care and safety.
While the campaign is progressing and we are extremely grateful to those who have donated so far. We are still a significant way from our goal of a hundred days of care.
Please take a moment and have a look at our campaign from the the link above and help us care for these incredible animals.
