The Adventure Connection donates new website for the Ashanti African Tours Foundation

The Ashanti African Tours Foundation has announced the launch of a new website, a significant step forward in its mission to promote ethical and sustainable tourism in West Africa. The platform highlights the Foundation’s impactful conservation and community development initiatives while providing opportunities for vital engagement and support.

The Foundation was established by Ashanti African Tours, a leading West African travel company renowned for offering expertly guided, responsibly managed tours across Ghana, Togo, Benin, São Tomé and Príncipe, the Ivory Coast, Guinea, Gambia Sierra Leone, Senegal and Liberia. With a team of 50 specialist guides in heritage, wildlife and birdwatching, Ashanti African Tours ensures that each travel experience not only celebrates Africa’s natural and cultural treasures but also makes a lasting positive impact.

The website was generously created by The Adventure Connection, the UK’s leading adventure travel representation agency. Mark Wright, Managing Director of The Adventure Connection, shared: "When I saw for myself the incredible work that the Ashanti African Tours Foundation has done and what it has achieved over the years, we decided to take the unprecedented step to support the Foundation by building a website for them to demonstrate their conservation, community and education projects. This is the best example of a DMC 'giving back' I have ever seen. It is a perfect way to show how the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals can be implemented by DMCs."

The Foundation was founded on the core value of “Purpose Before Profit,” with a focus on preserving wildlife, safeguarding habitats, fostering education and empowering local communities. Its new website provides a comprehensive view of its ongoing projects and serves as a resource for individuals and organisations eager to support its vital work.

Mark Williams, Founder of Ashanti African Tours and the Ashanti African Tours Foundation, emphasised: “The aim of the new website is to reflect our unwavering commitment to West Africa’s wildlife, ecosystems and local communities. We want to give people a better understanding of all the incredible projects we are running to ensure that tourism is used as a transformative force for good, and hopefully encourage others to get involved.”
