Table Mountain National Park introduces indemnity forms at gates
South African National Parks has announced that indemnity forms are now required at all Table Mountain National Park gates, effective 10 February 2026. The measure is an interim step while SANParks phases in an ID‑scanning system for South African residents to verify discounted entry and securely collect visitor data. Park management cautioned that visitors may experience slight delays at gates during the transition.
Under the new process, one indemnity form is required per group or vehicle. South African residents must present valid proof of identity for discounted entry and include their ID numbers on the form; SADC visitors and long‑term visa holders must also complete the form. International visitors will not present passports at the gate, but passport numbers must be recorded. The requirement applies to tour operators, guides and drivers. Visitors are encouraged to print and complete the form in advance, with copies also available at park gates.
