South African Tourism marked a strong presence at the 15th Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE), held in Nairobi from 1 to 3 October 2025. Represented by 17 South African Product Owners, including 10 Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs), the delegation participated in over 400 business-to-business meetings, signalling robust interest in South Africa’s tourism offerings and reinforcing its commitment to the East African market.

The South African Pavilion showcased a broad spectrum of the country's tourism value chain, with co-exhibitors such as Airlink, South African Airways, KwaZulu-Natal Tourism, and the Robben Island Museum. Kenya was identified as one of South Africa’s fastest-growing source markets, with an 18.7% rise in arrivals year-on-year. The expo also provided global exposure for SMMEs, underlining the role of inclusive trade platforms in enabling regional tourism growth and cross-border collaboration.
