South African Brandy Route Relaunches with Upgraded Visitor Offerings
The South African Brandy Foundation has relaunched the SA Brandy Route ahead of the 2025–2026 summer season, introducing a refreshed tourism offering across 19 accredited distilleries and select city venues. The revamped route combines Brandy Homes—distilleries offering tastings, tours, and food or cocktail pairings—with urban Brandy Hubs that serve as modern entry points to the country’s brandy heritage and culture.
Enhancements include updated tasting rooms, curated experiences, and staff training to position brandy alongside South Africa’s established wine tourism. Highlights on the route include Boplaas Distillery in Calitzdorp, new brandy pairings at Boschendal and Tokara, and elevated mixology offerings at venues such as Cause | Effect Cocktail Kitchen in Cape Town. The initiative aims to boost brandy tourism as a growing niche within South Africa’s lifestyle and heritage travel sectors.
