The Seychelles National Institute for Culture, Heritage, and the Arts (SNICHA) unveiled the "Seychelles Cultural Encounters" platform to celebrate the island nation's rich Creole heritage. Launched on 29 May, the initiative offers immersive cultural experiences for both locals and tourists.

"Cultural tourism is not just about our beautiful landscapes," said Permanent Secretary for Culture Cecile Kalebi, "but sharing the soul of Seychelles—our stories, traditions, and customs."

The platform provides a dynamic space to explore Seychellois culture, featuring traditional music, dance, cuisine, and crafts. It fosters cultural exchange, allowing visitors to connect with the islands on a deeper level.

A new monthly event, Bal Lasemenn, was also launched, showcasing traditional dances like the moutya and sega. Participants can experience these cultural gems for SCR250 ($18).

Aligned with the Seychelles National Development Strategy, this initiative promotes sustainable cultural tourism. It empowers local communities, creates jobs, and safeguards cultural heritage.
