Putting KAZA on the map
The Adventure Connection are working alongside Ethos Marketing, the Africa Hub and several international organisations to raise awareness of the Kavango Zambezi Trans-frontier Conservation Area (KAZA TFCA) in Southern Africa.
The KAZA TFCA straddles Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe making this important conservation project the world's largest terrestrial conservation area. Its diverse landscape of savannah, marshland, woodland and mighty rivers is home to the largest trans-boundary elephant population in the world and provides critical habitat for other endangered wildlife and birds.
KAZA TFCA combines 36 formally proclaimed protected areas, including game reserves, forest reserves, game management areas, communal lands and conservation and tourism concession areas. In fact it's the world’s largest terrestrial Trans-frontier Conservation Area.
This important international project will raise awareness of lesser known conservation areas in need of support and protection. It will challenge the traditional safari routes in favour of diversification. It will expand the knowledge of even the most well versed Africa Specialists, Operators and Guides. It will encourage best practice sharing and community engagement, uplifting those who live along the heart of Africa’s life-force, the Kavango and Zambezi rivers. Rivers, that if not protected, will die along with the millions that thrive off it.
Would you like to learn more about KAZA? Africa Hub will be hosting an online training workshop that is now open for registration. The webinar will provide a full overview of this incredible region and offer ideas of how you can make use of it in your Africa itineraries. Register for the webinar NOW.
A fully-hosted Fam Trip (including international flights) is currently being worked on for September, details of which will be announced at the webinar. Provisional dates are 14-24 September and will include visits to both well-known and little-visited areas of the region - exact details are being finalised soon and places will be very limited. We are particularly looking for product managers who are interested in developing a KAZA programme and don't yet feature the region. Find out more about KAZA here.
