Malawi sits at the juncture of three distinct regions and its 10 national parks offer unique terrestrial and aquatic experiences for visitors. Lake Malawi spans the length of the country and encompasses marshes, floodplains, rivers, forests and hills. While Malawi may not have the volume of large mammals as some of its closest neighbours, it does offer unique wildlife, aquatic and bird viewing in uncrowded unspoilt, genuine wilderness. Wildlife numbers have boomed due to a massive investment in several of its protected areas.
