Namibia ups Tourist Safety Measures
Namibia's tourism minister, Albert Kawana, is urging vigilance in protecting tourists, citing recent robberies, Kawana called for a "concerted action" with the police to prevent setbacks.
Highlighting the potential damage to Namibia's reputation, Kawana directed police chief Joseph Shikongo to work closely with tourism stakeholders. This includes increased surveillance, particularly at campsites, and improved cooperation between the industry and law enforcement.
