The Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) has launched a two-day customer care training programme for 47 police, immigration and Namibia Revenue Agency officials, aimed at improving service delivery and visitor experiences at the country's borders. The training, which began on Monday 23 June, is being facilitated by the Namibia University of Science and Technology's Harold Pupkewitz Graduate School of Business in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, following a cooperation agreement signed between the NTB and the ministry on 7 June.

The programme focuses on strengthening customer service skills, improving communication and reinforcing the importance of creating positive first impressions for arriving visitors. NTB spokesperson Flora Quest noted that frontline officials serve as ambassadors for Namibia, with their conduct directly influencing how travellers perceive the destination. "Excellent customer service contributes significantly to visitor satisfaction, destination competitiveness and positive word-of-mouth promotion," she said. The initiative forms part of broader efforts to position Namibia as a safe, welcoming and competitive tourism destination.
