Kruger National Park enforces festive season day‑visitor quotas
Kruger National Park has confirmed day‑visitor quotas are in force over the festive season, with priority given to those who pre‑book online via sanparks.org. A non‑refundable administration fee applies (R59 per adult and R29 per child), separate from conservation fees. South African, Zimbabwean and Mozambican nationals pay R134 per adult and R67 per child (2–11); SADC nationals pay R275 per adult and R137 per child; other international visitors pay R602 per adult and R300 per child. Valid identification is required – South Africans must present an ID or driver’s licence, while other visitors need a passport – failing which the standard international fee will be charged.
Overnight guests are not affected by quotas. Pre‑booked day visitors must arrive within their allocated gate time slots (05:30–08:00; 08:00–10:00; 10:00 onwards); late arrivals lose priority. Once quotas are reached, only pre‑booked visitors will be admitted, with others queueing as space becomes available. Entry is cash‑free at main gates and selected fuel stations, vehicles must display valid number plates, and compliance will be enforced by Ranger Services, SAPS and SANDF. The measures aim to ease congestion and protect wildlife experiences during peak demand – helpful for operators planning guest itineraries.
