Join ATTA® – The African Travel & Tourism Association as our new PR & Communications Manager and play a vital role in shaping the way the world sees African tourism.

👥 About the Role

The PR & Communications Manager ensures ATTA® has a strong, influential voice in both the UK and international markets. By shaping how trade and consumer media perceive African tourism, and by showcasing the value of our members, you’ll strengthen confidence in African travel, attract new members, and raise awareness of the continent’s diverse tourism offering.

You’ll be ATTA®’s primary press contact and lead our PR and communications activity — from strategy and media relations to content creation and supporting our key trade shows and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver creative PR and media strategies that raise ATTA®’s profile in the UK and other priority markets

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with trade and consumer media

  • Draft and distribute press releases, press kits, and news updates

  • Create compelling content for media, newsletters, blogs, and thought leadership pieces

  • Amplify member success stories and profile membership benefits through targeted PR

  • Provide comms support around key trade shows and events to maximise PR and media engagement

  • Monitor press coverage and identify opportunities to profile ATTA®

  • Offer guidance on crisis communications in collaboration with senior management

🔍 What We’re Looking For

  • Proven PR and communications experience (ideally 5+ years) in tourism, travel, or membership organisations

  • Strong UK media connections with a track record of working with both trade and consumer press

  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills with attention to detail

  • A track record of developing innovative PR campaigns that drive positive perception

  • Ability to prioritise and deliver high-impact work within part-time hours

  • Collaborative, adaptable, and proactive attitude

  • (Desirable) Familiarity with the African tourism landscape and stakeholders
