Governors’ Camp in Kenya’s Masai Mara has rebranded its children's safari programme as the Governors’ Cub Club, reflecting an enhanced focus on conservation, culture and hands-on learning for younger guests. On arrival, kids are given a lovely branded cap, a water bottle, a species checklist, and a pack of colouring pencils to use on safari and take home.

Led by experienced guides and supported by the camp’s dedicated team, the programme introduces children to wildlife, conservation and Maasai culture through a range of fun and inspiring activities. Young guests can learn about ecosystems, identify animal tracks, sounds, and bird species, and plant indigenous trees in our Reforestation Zone.

Cultural experiences are equally important, with informal talks by a Maasai member of staff, offering insight into the communities that have lived alongside wildlife in the Mara for generations. All of this fosters a deeper understanding of both the natural world and the people that call the Masai Mara home.

Alongside its educational focus, the Governors’ Club also includes fun activities such as pizza-making in a sustainable wood-fired oven and target practice using handmade wooden bows and arrows.

The programme complements Governors’ Camp’s specially designed Family Tents and reflects Governors’ Camp Collection’s ongoing commitment to creating enriching, multi-generational safari experiences.
