Elewana Collection expands family safari experiences across Kenya and Tanzania
Elewana Collection has expanded its family safari offering across selected lodges and camps in Kenya and Tanzania, introducing a range of age-appropriate activities designed to make safari travel accessible to families with children from the age of three. The initiative responds to growing demand for multi-generational travel and includes the creation of a new Head of Family Experiences role, with Natasha Wissanji appointed to lead the programme's development.
Activities vary by property and are tailored to each destination's landscape, wildlife and cultural context. These include traditional spear-making, garden-to-table cooking experiences, nocturnal wildlife walks, conservation-themed games and outdoor storytelling. Practical adjustments have also been made, with bed rails, child-friendly amenities, connected tent configurations and flexible private vehicle arrangements introduced to accommodate younger travellers and their schedules. A Wildlife Warrior Passport - a journal for children to document sightings and experiences - is expected to launch later in 2026. Elewana operates 17 boutique lodges and camps across East Africa, and additional family activities are planned at further properties before the end of the year.
