Ghana's Tour Operators Union Returns from Cameroon Fair with New Partnerships

The Tour Operators Union of Ghana (TOUGHA) participated in the 5th Cameroon International Tourism Fair, held from 19 to 21 March 2026 in Limbe, with the aim of attracting visitors from Central Africa to Ghana and strengthening intra-African tourism ties. The three-day fair brought together more than 40 global delegates alongside local exhibitors, featuring exhibitions, seminars, cultural displays and networking sessions. Led by President Yvonne Donkor, TOUGHA's delegation engaged destination management companies (DMCs) from across the continent to position Ghana as a key destination within the African tourism market.

Beyond the main exhibition, the delegation undertook post-tour activities across Cameroon, visiting destinations including the Bimbia Slave Village, the Ekom-Nkam and Lobe waterfalls, and the commercial hub of Douala. Donkor noted that these experiences were strategic, with TOUGHA planning to package Cameroonian products alongside Ghanaian offerings to market to diaspora travellers. The participation reflects a broader push by TOUGHA to build long-term partnerships across the continent and drive measurable tourism flows - both into Ghana and across the wider African region.
