Ghana pushes for MICE tourism growth as GTDC backs PA Conference 2026
Ghana is intensifying efforts to grow its Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) sector, positioning business events as a key driver of tourism expansion and economic diversification. The Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC) has announced its support for the PA Conference 2026, viewing the event as an opportunity to attract delegates, investment and international attention while strengthening Ghana’s reputation as a competitive destination for conferences and large-scale events.
The move reflects a broader national strategy to tap into the high-value global business tourism market, which brings benefits beyond visitor numbers through hotel occupancy, transport demand, trade partnerships and destination branding. By backing events such as the PA Conference, Ghana aims to build long-term MICE capacity, create jobs across the tourism value chain, and position itself as a leading hub for business travel in West Africa.
